same here, but in order to get better cable management, I try to stay with a central location, in a junction box (still inside the wall). It’s like mounting a relay anyway, so it’s not difficult to ask to electricians for that. Home automation is not mainstream here and I had to learn a lot by myself in order to ask my electricians for the right things to be done, and still have certification for the house, safety and things like that. Overall it’s frustrating, because they’re basically beta testing their ideas with you and you need to check everything they do, but for me it worked. I still occasionally expand things myself, when code permits it (it’s usually doable in Italy for maintenance).
