Alexa's Vera Skill is not showing my temperature sensor that can be added

Eventually, I want to build an Alexa routine that’s triggered by the temperature read by my z-wave temperature sensor.

But I’m stumped from the first step. When I try to add the Vera Skill for Alexa, I don’t see the temperature sensor as a device that can be added to Alexa on the Vera log-in screen. All I see are door locks.

Is this to be expected? Does it depend on the brand/model of my temperature sensor?

Unfortunately only lights and thermostat are supported at the moment.

It’s the same with the Google Home integration as well you cannot add temperature sensor devices.
