Automating a manual pleated blind.

Hi,
I have a manual corded pleated blind in the kitchen… with the sink in the way it’s really awkward to open and close the blinds… so I’m thinking about motorising it using a worm gear motor.

Question is… The motor doesn’t have limit switches… So if the motor goes in one direction for too long it will snap the cord. This is where I think the fibaro roller shutter might help me, but again I’m worried that the calibration process might snap the cord (as there are no limit switches)

Has anyone ever attempted this?

Sups

I think I recall that someone faked the limit switches by starting the calibration and interrupting the load connection at the right times. Can’t find that post now, though.
