I’m planning on getting a couple of Vistacams to monitor a vacation property. I’m planning on setting up scenes so that video is recorded if motion sensors are tripped.

I’m on a fixed satellite internet plan at this property with limited data, and I’m wondering about data usage.

  1. Is data used only when the camera is being actively viewed or uploaded after a video is recorded, or is there continuous data usage the whole time?

  2. If I subscribe to the VeraSentinel plan, will more data be used as the Hot Zones processing is being performed by Vera?

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated before I actually go out and spend money to buy the cameras.
