Chamberlain/Liftmaster MyQ Plugin

If the MyQ app sees your garage door, then everything in the online account should be accessibly to the plugin and I believe it will auto-create the garage door after authentication. If I remember correctly, it took a couple of minutes for mine to create the door. Try closing down your browser and then re-connecting to the Vera to see if the door shows up (the web UI does a poor job of re-reading data from the controller on its own).[/quote]

Thanks! Will try giving it a bit of time. I’ve tried rebooting luup and vera and my login credentials appear to be saved, but under the MyQ Devices Found section, it says ‘Username not configured. Password not configured.’ Hopefully will just take a little time to update…

Have you selected the correct manufacturer? That controls which web site it connects to.

I think so. My MyQ gateway is a chamberlain model, so I’ve selected this. The app I use on my phone to login in is lift master branded though–should I be using LiftMaster instead? Pretty sure it was set to Chamberlain before I uninstalled and reinstalled. Still not having it auto populate. I may try reinstalling at this point.

Yes. Otherwise, it will try and connect to the Chamberlain site and not the Liftmaster site.

just had my HA alert me the garage door was opened… it’s 2am EST here. freaked me out lol
it was not open.
but when i checked the advanced tab it showed it was last opened at 1489215606 which converts to ~ 2am
any idea why it would just alert/trigger without actually being opened?

Just guessing, but maybe a Vera restart? Mine seems to restart almost daily in that timeframe. I run a Vera to Siri and Vera to Alexa bridge, and my phone is full of notifications about my doors locking/unlocking when those bridges lose contact with the Vera during a restart. It’s so annoying that I set up a cronjob to kill the bridges overnight and restart them in the morning.

appreciate the thought… but it didn’t restart… this is the 1st time this has happened (that i know of)
guess i’ll just chalk it up to a fluke and see what happens. I didn’t know with the new plugin code if something could be buggy or not.

Hi, Please forgive my newness to this, #notanexpert.
So I had MyQ talking to two liftmaster gates for a good friend of mine, and then it quit working. I went here for advice and uninstalled the old MyQ, ssh’d into the Vera and deleted all the MyQ files, and then loaded the v1.36 app. I also added a mem stick so i could capture log files.

From my limited experience I can see that the Vera has successfully connected to the MyQ gw but i never see any of the 2 gates and one garage door that appear in the MyQ. I have restarted, rebooted, etc with no luck.

Thoughts?
Thanks,
jack

Throwing my 2cents. If you have Nest account which is synced with your Liftmaster. It will not detect the garage doors on Vera.

If this is the case, remove Liftmaster from Nest, then go on Plugin config on Vera, copy and paste the credentials again (even if they are already saved) and save the changes again. Engine should reload an find and generate your garage doors on Vera’s dashboard.

@John…There is Nest WWN running but i checked and there is no Nest appearing in MyQ nor is there any MyQ appearing in Nest.

Still no luck…

Thanks,
jack

Did you get the latest plugin file versions that were posted here on the forums a few weeks back and uploaded those to the Vera in question? MyQ has been on one of their ‘Go and mess with 3rd party plugins’ trips the last month and it’s broken the plugin repeatedly.

It was in one of the MyQ threads but I forgot which one…

I believe these might be the latest updated files for MyQ

Thank you all I will try and update you to the results. Looks like the MyQ empire wants to be the one and only provider of home automation, by making it difficult to do 3rd party. They should become familiar with the history of the record industry’s resistance to the Internet!

Bad news on MyQ. I never had any success getting the individual closers to show up even though the log shows a connection being made. I opened a ticket with Vera and after several attempts they gave up and said that MyQ has tightened their protocols to talk to another zwave gateway, and thus broken the current ap. Therefore i was out of luck until someone smarter than me figures out how to make it work again.

Heres a clip from the Vera response:

I had applied everything that I could to MyQ plugin. Even uninstalled and re-installed it. Nothing seems to work.
I had checked our forums and it seems like MyQ has made some changes in the API, which rendered most of the plugins inoperable. I think they made this change because they are in full process of native integrate their services with another z-wave controllers producer.
The only valid recommendation which I can give you is to try to post on our forums, maybe other end customers or the developer will give you an reply/workaround for this issue. I have exhausted the means to which I have access.

@acucons& others, this does not represent in any way an official statement on behalf of MyQ and it’s only based on sources that are freely available on the forum. But MyQ API’s have been changed several times in a very short notice, which has affected the integration, which has been maintained and updated lately, by cybrmage.

I gave up on MyQ a while back and now rely solely on my TelGuard GDC1 now. That one connects directly to Vera and does not need any cloud connection. It presents itself as an on/off switch to be as compatible as possible.

I just got my first Vera to integrate the Liftmaster W8550W. So far I installed the app for MyQ and try to set it up but I get the following message “Number of garage doors / gates found:ERROR: Could not initialize connection.”

I try to install and uninstall the app several times with no luck, can someone help me on the setup process?

Make sure that you have your account set up with the correct opener company and make sure that is the manufacturer you select in the plug in. There are different web sites for the different makes, and choosing the manufacturer is what directs the plugin to the different web sites behind the scenes.

Also, if you have Nest, and have it synced with Nest. You have to remove Nest sync, before adding it to Vera.

Has anyone been able to get this to work? The Plug-in doesn’t seem to want to save my user name and password. I know i have the right info because i can log into the site.
