Daikin SKYFi

Hi all
Anyone have a Daikin SKYFi and would you be interested in a plugin.

It is a wifi interface to some of Daikin AC’s (May be Australian only not sure).

Yep definitely interested. I was building a house in Perth and my vera 2 was packed up for 8 months, Ive come back and boom lots of action.

Just getting another M1 installed in the new place and daikin with skyfi would be perfect to be smart with that and a thermostat.

Did you get much further into loking at this…

kFc

It is working but not 100% happy with it as yet.

oohhhh this sounds good!

We are building right now and our builder can supply this, but I figured a plugin would never be made. Looks like I’m gonna have to get this module now

Thanks for doing this!

Thanks zoot1612.

I am looking at updating my Daikin controller to Skyfi so would love to have this plug in.

Good one. Where did the protocol info come from? I’ve been looking at a couple of these designed for the Daikin split systems:

https://www.penair.com.au/product/daikin-online-controller/

Detailed info - could probably be reverse engineered:

http://onlinecontroller.eu/media/downloads/EN-User-manual-KKRP01A-20121031.pdf

Do you think they have anything in common with the ducted systems? Big problem is that it phones home to here:

Reverse engineered with tcpmon and wireshark.
Do you think they have anything in common with the ducted systems?
They look very different from a front end point of view.
Big problem is that it phones home.
The Sky-FI does this also.

any update to this?

Im looking at getting a daikin ducted heat pump system with skyfi so I can control it via home automation.

I was planning on doing the same, just sniff the traffic between phone and heat pump system to figure out the commands, but if you’ve already done the heaving lifting, any chance you could release a plugin, or post some info about the “api” youve discovered?

thanks

thanks I completely missed that  Is there any annoying limitations with the Daikin I should be aware of? I’m deciding between an LG system and a Daikin system, as long as the Daikin can be controlled via HTTP requests for a vera or openhab (incase I switch to that one day or something) ill happily get the Daikin.

I think the basic functionality you would need is,

 • turn on / off
 • get temp
 • set temp

I’m basically just wanting it to always set the house temp to “comfortable” whenever someone is home, and turn off the system automatically when the house alarm is set.

sorry for the n00b question, but how do I install the zip file onto the vera? I uploaded the contents via develop apps → luup files, then added a device via Apps → Develop Apps- > Create device with the following

Upnp Device Filename: D_DaikinSkyFi1.xml
Upnp Implementation Filename: I_DaikinSkyFi1.xml
(and the rest empty)

and the rest blank, but the device just disappears from the device list, and I now have a error “Daikin SKYFi : Please enter device code.” (for 2 failed to create device) and I can’t see how to edit/delete these device I have no made.

Hello
This may be a bit off the topic - but do anybody know where to buy Daikins BRP15A61 SKYFi Interface outside Australia. I live in europe.

@reven
Daikin is controlled by http requests. Not sure what the issue is but sometimes I don’t get replies or the replies are malformed but not sure if this is the plugin, luup or the actual Daikin hardware/software combination. This causes failures or non-response to commands sent from the plugin.

Plugin currently supports the following (not fully tested)
OFF
COOL
HEAT
AUTO
FAN SPEED
ZONE 1-8 ON/OFF

Edit:

and the rest blank, but the device just disappears from the device list, and I now have a error "Daikin SKYFi : Please enter device code." (for 2 failed to create device) and I can't see how to edit/delete these device I have no made.
Under the advanced tab you need to add the pin number (This is on the box containing the hardware) for the device and also an IP Address.

Has there been any progress with this

No plugin attached in zip file in response above is latest.

Cheers

Hello I am even more of a noob and don’t understand any of this. I tried to copy the instructions above but cant seem to get anything to work. Any chance some one can list step by step instructions on how to get this to work as I

@bigmusic11

I tried to copy the instructions above but cant seem to get anything to work.

What version of firmware are you using?

Here is an overview: -

[ol][li]Extract files from zip in message http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,25829.msg191568.html#msg191568[/li]
[li]Open APPS section; Develop Apps >> Luup files.[/li]
[li]Upload D_DaikinSkyFi1.xml, I_DaikinSkyFi1.xml, D_DaikinSkyFi1.json & L_DaikinSkyFi1.lua to Vera[/li]
[li]Open APPS section; Develop Apps >> Create Device.[/li]
[li]In the Upnp Device Filename input box enter D_DaikinSkyFi1.xml.[/li]
[li]In the Upnp Implementation Filename input box enter I_DaikinSkyFi1.xml.[/li]
[li]Click Create device.[/li]
[li]Close the popup window that informs you about the creation of a new device, then push the Reload button (The luup engine will reload).[/li]
[li]When reload is done, refresh your Web browser cache (Ctrl+F5 in most of the browsers).[/li]
[li]Under the advanced tab add the pin number (This is on the box containing the hardware) for the device and the IP Address and reload (as per above).[/li][/ol]

Thanks for the prompt reply. I am using version U15
I followed all of the steps listed but was not sure about number 10. ( Under the Advanced tab add the pin etc )
Not sure what Advanced tab your referring to ?

I followed these steps about 8 times, each time it created a new device and in the device settings it had no option for entering a pin number or IP add.
I deleted the device and tried again, each time having the same problem. Finally after step 3 I ticked the ( Restart Luup after upload ) Thought I was getting somewhere when it then asked to enter the Daikin pin number in the top centre of the screen.
Now I have the same problem as reven (the device has disappears from the device list, and I now have a error "Daikin SKYFi : Please enter device code) (for 2 failed to create devices) and I can’t see how to edit/delete these device I have now made.

When looking at Vera on my phone it also has the error message asking for the device code and Lua Startup Failure message
Under Lighting and climate tab on my phone is has the Daikin Skyfi control interface and but still no option to enter any details
Please Help

Tried it again for good luck I now have 3 error messages. No devices on the computer but 3 Daikin controls interfaces on my phone :-X

@bigmusic11
My bad :frowning:

See attached for where to enter IP and PIN number.
