DLNA Media Controller plugin - version 1.4 released

Could you add support for Acapela TTS?
Because the Microsoft translator (Bing translator) reproduces the man’s voice, then a woman’s voice (randomise) :(.

Acapela has a very good quality:

Any news on implementing Acapela? Google doesn’t work, Microsoft have changed the registration for their TTS making it very hard getting it up and running and I don’t want to use my own server.

Or maybe ResponsiveVoice, like someone has recently done in the sonos plugin:

I would very much like to have a new alternative for Microsoft please.

Thanks!

Yep, I was just reading the Sonos plugin thread. People are very happy with the ResponseVoice and the Sonos plugin creator was saying it was very easy to implement the new voice in his plugin. Hopefully this one will be easy too?

Well I took a dive myself and I seem to have figured it out. It was quite easy with the sonos plugin as an example.

Try it and have fun with it. Just replace the files in Vera with the attached files (make a back-up of your files on Vera first).

I’m a noob with lua and Vera developing, so I probably can’t give you any expert advice when it doesn’t work. But it works for me.

I just tested this. It works great, thanks!

I don’t seem to be having any luck with this.
I’ve uploaded the files (I tried both uploading through Vera’s webserver as well as using WinSCP) and it appears that there are duplicate files. When I use WinSCP I can see that at least one of the two files I’ve uploaded is a lua file, but the one on the Vera is an lzo (Some type of compression, I take it). Restarting the engine and rebooting have not helped – I still don’t see the TTS engine in my drop-down list.
Are there any steps that I’ve left out?
Thanks in advance.

Edit: duplicates seem to have disappeared. Still no drop-down.

Edit 2: Ok, that’s just really weird… waited 10 to 15 minutes, made no changes, I see it in my drop-down list now.
:o

Sorry for the false alarm and thanks for the modification to the plugin!

Any thoughts on the issue of the plugin not working on the latest UI7 firmware as discussed over on this thread?
