Ideas for custom pages and button layout

Hello

New to AltUI never used it before, currently having a play about with it on a spare Vera Edge box.

Looking at the custom pages, what do people tend to use them for? My first thought was for creating remote control pages for the TV stuff.

I used the Harmony plugin and managed to add some buttons that are all working OK.

However resizing the buttons so they are all the exact same size and positioning them in the correct locations seems a bit tricky.

As you can see in my screen shot its close but not quite looking correct.

Also can you add your own icons ? Or just the ones from the in built list ?

Thanks

Once your custom page has been made, is there a URL for accessing that page directly ?

Would love to be able to insert a custom page in to the Imperihome mobile app for this remote control function.

Thanks

EDIT:

If you copy the URL of the page tab like:

http://VERA-IP/port_3480/data_request?id=lr_ALTUI_Handler&command=home#altui-page-content-TV_Controls

When you enter that URL in to a browser it takes you to the AltUI Home page and not to your custom page :frowning:

EDIT 2:

This works for directly opening custom pages

Yes I know, never had the time to built a full blown editor… there buttons in toolbar to align control ( you can select multiple controls at once with a rubber box or ctrl click ) then chose the alignment tool.

Hi

After using the alignment tools the layout looks better, see attached screen shot.

However I am not able to get some of the buttons to be the exact same size and the button icon positions don’t all match, like the volume buttons.

It is possible to change the frame line colour ? Seems I could only change the frame fill colour.

And can the text at the bottom be removed and the white outer boarder?

Other than these small issues I really like the ability to create your own pages for things like remote control buttons !

Thanks

Picking this one back up, as i’m looking for replacement of Imperihome…

Same questions as above, how do I get the custom page directly? I tried the “lean” link, but i shows up “collapsed”:

Can I put other icons in somehow?

This definately has the potential to cover the last piece of the puzzle for me, any plans for further development? I would contribute if i could, but Java is not my language…

That’s where I found the link shown above…?

And does it work ?

Well, if you lok at the picture above, it’s not ideal…

This is how an embedded ALTUI custom page looks for me in Imperihome.

I dont see any of the menu items as in your screenshot.

And this is the URL to that page.

http://Vera-IP/port_3480/data_request?id=lr_ALTUI_Handler&command=home&home=pageUsePages&layout=lean&nPage=1

Ok, what if you open it in a browser? I was hoping to replace Imperihome as well in time.

Same no menus just my custom page.

I’m replacing Imperihome with Home Remote.

I’ve looked at Home Remote, but it seems to require the Vera login/cloud? or is there a way to connect it to openLuup locally?

Not that I am aware of, as you have to login to the Vera account.

I dont know much about OpenLuup, does it have an SDATA stream like Vera?

http://IP-ADDRESS:3480/data_request?id=sdata

Maybe contact the Home Remote developer @bill_v and ask him.

Tried the link again, and i get the menus as well. Any idea’s @amg0?

I’m running openluup without vera, so i have to use : instead of “port_3480” in the link…

No sure I follow? Look at my URL again it’s using :3480

On the OpenLuup Github page it says:

“has its own port 3480 HTTP server supporting multiple asynchronous client requests”

If its the same port number and also has an SDATA output like Vera? then it should be fairly easy for Bill to make Home Remote connect to a local OpenLuup IP address rather than having to login to a cloud Vera account, I would think.

Your link says http://Vera-IP/port_3480/, and in mine i have to write http://Vera-IP:3480/.
Thats the only difference between your custom page link and mine, and wheni used it, the custom page shows up like in the picture i posted earlier. So i’m assuming its because you run on a vera and i don’t?

Don’t know anything about SDATA, this was regarding “lean” AltUI custom page.

Oh I see, I thought you were talking about the SDATA URL I posted.

It does not matter if its :3480 or /port_3480

If you have to use :3480 that’s fine.

That I don’t know the answer too.

You were asking about Home Remote for OpenLuup.

Can you open the SDATA URL in a browser for your OpenLuup instance? You should see pages of data.

http://IP-ADDRESS:3480/data_request?id=sdata

If yes then Home Remote will work with OpenLuup, if the developer can provide the option to add a local IP address rather than having to login to the Vera cloud account.
