I recently called Vera tech support to find out the status of the GC100 plugin as it relates to UI7 as I had read in their release notes that they fixed it to support UI7. It turns out that was not true and that they do not officially support it, at least that is what the person I spoke to said.
So I decided to role up my sleeves and solve my own problem by creating a new plugin to support the iTachWifi set of devices from Global Cache.
It is built to support either one device, or multiple devices and auto detects how many you have it configured for. This is very similar to the GC100 in that respect. I have only configured it to support sending IR commands, so no support for Serial devices. If there is a desire for that, I am happy to modify, but I do not personally have that use case and therefore have no way to test it out.
I just submitted the code to apps.mios.com, so I am waiting for it to be approved. I am looking for some beta testers, so if there is any interest in giving it a try, please PM me and let me know.
I have downloaded and installed per your helpful instructions, but unfortunately I keep getting the “iTachWifi[39] : Startup Lua Failed” when I restart the engine.
Sorry about the confusion. I guess I figured the GC100 and Itach were similar enough that your plug-in might work for the GC100 as well. No luck, I guess.
If you or anyone has any idea how I might get my GC100 working with Vera, I’d appreciate the help!
Hi, just wondering if this plugin has been working OK for others? I am thinking of adding IR control to my Vera and would happily consider the iTachWiFi device if it works with UI7.
I see there are still some questions around whether or not my plugin works.
This is the model I designed the plugin around - specifically the iTACH WIFI module, no other model was this created for and most likely will not work with. Global Cache makes other IR blaster devices that are WIFI enabled, but my plugin does not work with them.
