iTachWifi Plugin Created (for UI7)

Hey Everyone,

I recently called Vera tech support to find out the status of the GC100 plugin as it relates to UI7 as I had read in their release notes that they fixed it to support UI7. It turns out that was not true and that they do not officially support it, at least that is what the person I spoke to said.

So I decided to role up my sleeves and solve my own problem by creating a new plugin to support the iTachWifi set of devices from Global Cache.

It is built to support either one device, or multiple devices and auto detects how many you have it configured for. This is very similar to the GC100 in that respect. I have only configured it to support sending IR commands, so no support for Serial devices. If there is a desire for that, I am happy to modify, but I do not personally have that use case and therefore have no way to test it out.

I just submitted the code to apps.mios.com, so I am waiting for it to be approved. I am looking for some beta testers, so if there is any interest in giving it a try, please PM me and let me know.

Here is a post I created for instructions on it: http://www.airedalez.net/?p=252

looking forward to trying this out… could you upload the plugin files here… it can take mios/mcv days to a week to approve

It has been approved - still waiting on feedback from you konrad

Hi, airedale,

Thanks for the new plug in for the GC100/UI7.

I have downloaded and installed per your helpful instructions, but unfortunately I keep getting the “iTachWifi[39] : Startup Lua Failed” when I restart the engine.

Any idea what can cause this?

Unfortunately I am getting the same error…iTachWifi[11] : Startup Lua Failed

Any updates do this would be great. I have two iTach IP2IR devices I’d like to integrate.

Thanks in advance

are you using this on UI7 or UI5?

I did not make a plugin for GC100. I made it for the iTachWifi… What model are you using?

Sorry mate… work commitments and apparent failed device have kept me away from the forums for a couple of weeks…

Hi, Airedale,

Sorry about the confusion. I guess I figured the GC100 and Itach were similar enough that your plug-in might work for the GC100 as well. No luck, I guess.

If you or anyone has any idea how I might get my GC100 working with Vera, I’d appreciate the help!

Hi Airedale

I keep getting a “startup lua failed” after i followed the steps. I have the itach wifi model and running UI7. Any reason why?

I am not getting email notifications when posts are made - sorry for the delay in responding. Let me PM you and we can troubleshoot from there.

I too have UI 7 and the “startup lua failed” message.

What version do you have installed?

Did you put in the IP address?

Hi, just wondering if this plugin has been working OK for others? I am thinking of adding IR control to my Vera and would happily consider the iTachWiFi device if it works with UI7.

I have Version 1.1 of the app and did indeed put in the IP address

I see there are still some questions around whether or not my plugin works.

This is the model I designed the plugin around - specifically the iTACH WIFI module, no other model was this created for and most likely will not work with. Global Cache makes other IR blaster devices that are WIFI enabled, but my plugin does not work with them.

Here is the device that will work with the plugin: http://www.amazon.com/Global-Cache-iTach-Wi-Fi-Flex-WF/dp/B00C6FFM4Q/

If you have that device and are having problems, please let me know so I can work through them with you.

@airedale

Hi,

How are you?

I’m using this exactly model you show us and i’still getting iTachWifi[93] : Startup Lua Failed message.

Is there anything I can try to fix that?

Thanks!

Do you know how to pull your logs from SSH?

Unfortunately, no. I am a real noob

OK, so you have put in the IP address of your iTach?

If you do and then reload zwave, it should then populate with a device type.

Please verify you have done these things.
