I find that ALexa successfully activates some routines and doesn’t others. Anybody have any idea why Alexa is so selective?
Could you elaborate? Are you routines tied to Vera scenes?
Alexa has a list of command/special words.
e.g.
open
close
turn on
run
start
play
resume
launch
and more
These word in a phrase, specially at the beginning can cause issues.
Those are Vera scenes that work OK when controlled directly in Vera.
Alexa recognizes them and imports them OK. I have a scene changing the state of a device to one state and another one changing it to another state. Scene #1 works every time. Scene #2 never works when triggered by Alexa.
What do you say to Alexa to trigger the scene? Have you tried running the scene manually through the Alexa app to verify the scene is running.
I have the issue even when I trigger the scene manually in the Alexa app (works in Vera interface).
Try removing the scene in the home.getvera.com-settings-Alexa setup and delete it from the Alexa app, then re add it
