New beta user interface available for preview

At CES we demonstrated a new user interface that is based on flash. We held off releasing this to the public until some critical bugs were fixed. It’s now ready for beta testers. First, go to Advanced, Backup and make a backup of your current Vera configuration. The new flash UI uses a different backend and will automatically upgrade your existing data so your settings are preserved during the upgrade, if you choose ‘Preserve my settings’. However, if you later decide you want to downgrade back, you will not be able to choose ‘preserve my settings’. You will have to downgrade to the old firmware with a ‘Factory default’ setting, and then restore the backup you made.

To upgrade, go to Advanced, Download and copy/paste this link in the field to upgrade to a custom firmware: http://download.controlmyhouse.net/betafirmware/ftp/wl500gP_Luup_ui3-1.1.213-1.trx

Please visit the UI Discussion forum, which is here: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php?board=3.0 and read the topic ‘Flash UI Orientation’ to learn your way around the UI and how it differs from the old UI. Our development focus right now is making the new user interface as good as we can. Any feedback or recommendations about how to make the UI better is very much appreciated. We will probably be making weekly updates available that incorporate fixes and feedback from the user community until we feel it’s ready to make as a global update for all users.
