"No controller found on network" from Vera portal

I’m trying to create an account for an old Vera 3 that I’ve inherited.
But the portal (home.getvera.com) fails to find the unit and keeps saying “No controller found on network.”

My Vera 3 says it has internet access and runs the latest firmware (UI7).
I even tried entering the serial number and MAC address manually, to no avail.

Vera’s customer support is not responsive.

Any suggestions?

try factory reset

anything else short of that?

can you ssh into the unit

Yes, I can successfully ssh into the unit’s root.
Is this a good sign?
What should I try next?

factory reset u may have to do it a couple of times. if not oped an support ticket they have a command that can factory reset it for u

I was able to solve the problem and leaving a comment for posterity’s sake.

It turns out that the MAC address of the unit was different from the one printed on the back label!
I came across http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php?topic=40090.0 and took a look at the MAC address registered in my router, and the last digit was changed from 9 to 8.
I don’t how what caused it, but manually entering the MAC addressed found from the router carried the day.
