This would seem to be the real problem. It’s a shame that there’s no standard syntax (eg. UPnP … gosh, did I really say that?)
Yes, but a transformation engine is more flexible.I mean, you can define new sensors/definitions and be able to integrate them quickly.
It’s more towards integrations and less to define static devices. I find very frustrating that Vera’s UI composition is too static, hard coded and cannot express new kind of devices on the market (think about smart vents, weather sensors, advanced panels, pool controllers, and so on). Being able to compose your own UI and have native transformation to display values is very powerful.
