Scene controller device on new vera after upgrading firmware?

I purchased a new Vera Plus for my primary residence (already had one at my secondary residence) and since I had no scenes or devices on it yet, I upgraded to the latest firmware last Sunday. Once the dust had settled I noticed that I had a new device on it that failed to configure: _Scene Controller 1.

Does anyone know anything about this device? Do I need it? Can I delete it?

I have since included two z wave locks on the device and they seem to work fine in a scene.

I see I have the same thing, but I only noticed it today while doing something with the Reactor app.

Any idea what it is?
