Security System, Keypad, Motion, Door and Window Sensors

Hi All, new to the forum, and working with Vera products.
i recently purchased a Vera Plus as I need a reliable and inexpensive way to trigger switches through my phone.

I am dealing with constant homeless Ah*le thieves…Opps! I meant ADHD, Tent BRB Living, Pharmacology Challenged, Property Reassignment Specialist.

It seems to me the first priority would have been security? I guess not?

I was hoping you all could list cheap compatible alarm keypads, door and window sensors, and motion sensors, (Both indoor and Driveway) so I can cobble together an alarm system.

I was thinking about purchasing the Ring Security System but I cant find any info if I can integrate any of it with my Vera Plus hub. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated as well.

What is a little disappointing is no manufacturer in the smart home created a hub that has all the radio frequencies used in security since the dawn of time such as 345, and 433mhz. Vera Secure link came out right after I made my purchase. So Vera Plus does not include these frequencies.

I have also ordered an RFXtrx433 so I can use my existing OUTDOOR siren/Strobe setup… I also have a Guardian Driveway Sensor setup with 16 sensors. Wondering if anyone has paired directly to the sensors themselves or if its possible? The outside of my building is surrounded by PTZ cameras with night vision which work well. Trying to secure property with a small building on a large lot.

Thanks in advance.

There is a plugin for the RFXtrx433. You can go to RFXCOM.com and download the user guide to determine if the transceiver can communicate with your devices.

For cameras, I have three different types, Ring camera, Blink XT cameras, and Arlo Pro. Of the three Arlo is hands down my favorite, then Blink XY, lastly Ring. Arlo never gives false alerts, always catches motion, has a good app, and is stable. Blink XT is really affordable, does produce some false alarms even with using field of view masks and reducing the sensitivity, and has a decent user interface. Ring seems to struggle with connectivity and produces a lot of false alarms and if I turn down the sensitivity then is misses some motions, but it still isn’t bad, just my third in preference.
Unfortunately, none of these are supported by Vera (that I know of) but it really doesn’t need to be as these are self managing and really there just to catch things on video in the event I need proof of something, I have the Arlo light which works in conjunction with the Arlo camera system sensing motion and I use IFTTT to tie the Blink XT camera to the Arlo light also.
