To add some devices, Vera must be taken close to that device, such as a door lock. If you take the Vera unit to the device, can you just plug in to a nearby outlet, rather than using batteries/battery pack? Does Vera enter a different mode when it is powered on with the battery button (Vera Lite has this)? I have to ask because I’ve tried adding some light switches that have been difficult to add. I tried adding them without moving Vera close by, but that didn’t work. So, I took Vera close to them (~2 ft) but didn’t have any fresh batteries to put in the battery compartment. I plugged in near the switches, in fact right next to the switches is an outlet. Still no luck. This is a Vera Lite, but at another house I have a brand new Vera Plus but did not purchase the battery pack to go with it. Can I plug the Vera Plus in, in lieu of the battery pack, or will it need a battery pack to be taken to my front door lock?
Just plug in your Vera Plus. It will work correctly.
