Vera MiOS Remote (iOS)

A new totally graphic app to control your Vera Boxes

My comment is the as the last time you posted something about this app. I cannot try it out without paying. At least offer either limited functionality for free, or a 30 to 90 day trial. The app wants $1.99 to register a Vera and it crashes when I touch the Vera IP address box. Even Beacons wants $0.99 to try it out.

Hello,

thank you for the feedback, this is the first I’m receiving for the app.

First the easy things, of course you can test all the functionalities for one month. There is a one month trial with each InApp purchase, except for the multipage option you can buy once.
You have to go to your subscription on you iTunes account to cancel it before the last day of the trial period.

For the crash I need a little bit more information to reproduce the case.

Do you experience the crash when touching the IP address box for the first time, before the keyboard appears ?

If you uninstall the app et reinstall the app, did the same behavior happen ?

Best regards

Olivier

Reinstalled it. Below is the screen I was on when I touched the IP address box and the screen disappeared. No keyboard or anything else. The screen simply vanished.

Ok,

All the popup windows will disappear if you touch outside the popup. Try to touch near the word “address” in order to display the keyboard.

It is not the pop-up that disappears, the entire app disappears (I think it is crashing). I am touching only the box that says Vera IP Address. I can touch anything else on the screen and nothing happens, as expected. But when I touch anywhere within the Vera IP Address box, the app disappears. Relaunching the app takes me to this screen, like the app restarted.

Ok,
I’ve installed the iTunes Store Version on my iPad and I see the same problem.
No I can work on the resolution of the problem.
Thanks for the input.

Olivier

Hello,

the bug has been identified, now I’ve to publish the new version on the store, this could take up to a week.

thanks for your feedback

Olivier

Hello,

Version 1.1 has been approved yesterday and available for the update.

Let me know if you still have problems.

Best regards

Oliver

Making progress. I can now enter the IP address but it disappears when I touch Check Vera. Screen shot attached. Same thing when I hide the keyboard and then touch Check Vera.

Strange…
Normally when you enter the ip address and you press check vera, only 2 things can happen.
Quite immediately if the vera is successfully contacted a alert message is displayed telling that the contact has been established, or after a 5 seconds delay another message is displayed to tells you that the box cannot be contacted.
Did you wait 5 seconds ?
Did you test also with an address were you are sure that you cannot get an answer ?

For the moment I cannot reproduce this behavior.

Regards

Olivier

Don,
I’m suspecting that something I’ve never seen in the config when contacting the Vera and causing an app crash during the decoding.
If you agree could you send to me the result of http://192.168.1.117/data_request?id=user_data2&output_format=json ?
You can cut and paste the data in my support page at http://iossupport.gudet.ch/en/home/veraremote-2/veraremote-support-3/
One received and tested, I’ll destroy it.

Best regards

Olivier

Well, it is not crashing today. I did get an error that it could not contact Vera.

I attempted to run the command and I get an error also.

Don,

Small mistake on my side, I’ve missed the port number in the URL.
Try again with http://192.168.1.117:3480/data_request?id=user_data2&output_format=json

Information sent.

The latest update allows me to connect to my Vera, and I can see all of the devices.

Version 1.2 is available with the bug fixes. (Thanks to Don to reveal it)

Version 1.3 with some improvements in functionalities will arrive in about a week.

  • You can tap on the icons of the help screen to have direct access to the config screens
  • If only one system is configured you show immediately the devices on the configuration screen
  • Live screen background coming from a camera, just make double tap on the camera icon (you need the multipage option for this functionality)
    • With hidden devices on the screen you can click on the object to activate it (I’ll post later a video on the dedicated support web site)

A new version has recently been released on the App Store.
The main new features are the possibility of placing elements to be controlled on the live images of the cameras and even making them invisible to interact directly with the object itself.
There are no more subscriptions for options, you can now buy the option that releases all the features forever.
A 14-day trial period can be activated free of charge.
