Yet another topic - datamine doesn't see USB drive

I have datamine 2, VeraPlus with firmware 1.7.3015, fat32 formatted USB stick with disk label assigned. Datamine does not see USB and cannot determine it’s UUID. This stick can be mounted and formatted for Vera logging, so stick itself and USB slot works perfectly.
Definitely I need some suggestion.

Below is datamine debug page and datamine GUI:

i had the same issue. try adding /dev/sda1 to the SetMountUUID entry in the variables and see if that helps. May need to restart the controller.

Did you find a solution to this problem? Looks like I have the same issue :frowning:

Any tips are good!

Same problem with my Vera Plus.

I tried different usb drives (manufacturer, size…), number of partitions (one/two) but always without results.
Any ideas?

Hi All,

i’ve the same Problem. I can’t select anything in the uuid-field.

It seem that vera logging is on sda1 and sda2 is free but not mounted. Here wold be fine for datamine, how can i achieve this!

Excuse my bad english, but it is a long time ago when i went to school.

Hi guys,

Try lsusb to see if VP is picking up the USB. I had mine in for logging and used diskpart in Windows to format it. I had to manually use mount /dev/sda1 /dataMine. Then set up variables manually like the directions say to.

Note that you should probably do “mount -w /dev/sda1 /dataMine” as your command to mount it as read/write.

Verify it mounted after that with the mount command.

There are some posts about using the same USB drive for both vera logs and datamine, with two different partitions, in the following link: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php?topic=33555.0
Everything there worked great for me, except, the USB would not mount for datamine after restart, and that was because on every startup, datamine tried to mount the USB drive, even if it was already mounted .
so besides following the instructions in the aforementioned link, just comment the doMount on line 379 in L_DataMine2.lua
