Chamberlain/Liftmaster MyQ Plugin

And how are things today? There were some pretty significant Internet issues across the US yesterday that may have contributed to the problems. Everything started going bad around 1PM EST and lasted for quite a while.

Maybe try restarting the controller? And if that doesn’t help, restart everything from the cable modem / router back?

Just try restarting the controller - it’s sometimes surprising how not all devices are impacted in the same way when it’s an Internet connection problem.

No change this morning, even with reboots.

Whats funny is if I switch my settings to be Craftsman, it errors out as I would expect with a myq login failure… but both Liftmaster and Chamberlin give the error we are getting and generating logs similar to what I posted.

Out of curiousity, is anyone else having the trouble using google DNS instead of whatever their ISP provides? Im not at home to test it, but I wonder if googleDNS is creating the issue? If we are all googleDNS folks, maybe ill try switching when I get home and see if it makes any difference.

I can confirm that I am -not- using Google DNS. And I am not having problems.

Specifically, I point to a Linux machine internally that runs a full DNS server. That machine forwards to my ISP’s DNS servers. So, ultimately, everything comes back from my ISP’s DNS servers except for the records that I maintain for use within my house.

Up front I am new to Vera and am trying to setup the MyQ plugin but I am also having the same problem logging in to MyQ via Vera. Can access MYQ via browser and iPhone. Selected the right opener vendor: LiftMaster. But get the following error messages. Any devise anyone could offer would be welcome. At this point it sound like something changes in the infrastructure that is causing my issue as other users are also having trouble logging on to there MyQ account using the Vera app.

MYQ DEVICES FOUND:
Number of garage doors / gates found:
ERROR: Could not initialize connection.
Number of lighting devices found:
Check brand, username and password.

UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE!!!

I specifically state that I have tested the plugin and DID NOT FIND a problem… So, obviously, I can not see any errors being generated by the plugin or by the MyQ servers… So, also obviously, ANY changes I make would be purely speculative.

So… what does (almost) everyone do… Post that it doesn’t work for them.

As I have said before…

@jaredrs1 - You log excerpt was (slightly) helpful… But, it does not show the startup, so does not show the initial login and device setup. Also, debug_mode is not enable, so the information is rather sparse.

Attached is a version to upload that will give better logging data…

Updated luu from cybrmage helped a lot. Able log in and found my MyQ devices. Devices how up now on the Vera Device tab. Can’t get the devices to turn on/off yet but progress. Thanks Remember I never had the app configured as I just got the Vera controller yesterday. Thank you for the updated app dated Nov 7th.

MYQ DEVICES FOUND:
Number of garage doors / gates found: 1
Number of lighting devices found: 6

After updating the L_MyQGateway.lua from cybrmage which has version number as 1.48, when compare to the one which I have is v1.44, now I can see the Plugin is successfully authenticated with MyQ Servers and detected the Garage doors.

But still, the correct status of the Garage door is not updated in the Vera App.

cybrmage, can you please help us here? The current APP version is 1.44, but your LUA file version is 1.48. Are there any mismatch? Thanks.

STILL!!! UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE!!!

What did my last post say???

It Said - POST LOGS!!!

No logs posted!!!

NO LOGS… So I can’t see…

NO!!! If you can’t read… I can’t help!!!

Hi cybrmage,

Attached are the logs files, which I have used "cat LuaUPnP.log | grep -i “myq” to collect the logs. I have attached 2 log files.

 1. MyQ_LuaUPnP_1_48.txt - Contains the LuaUPnP logs with your 1.48 LUA file updated from your today’s post (Reply 827)
 2. MyQ_LuaUPnP_1_44.txt - Contains the LuaUPnP logs with default 1.44 LUA file downloaded using MyQ app

Please note, I have edited my MyQDeviceId, UserName and Password from the log files and used *********** for privacy. Thanks.

Regards
Siva

Just to update, dropping from google DNS to my ISP DNS made no difference. even with rebooting my entire network/vera after the change.
UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE!!!
@jaredrs1 - You log excerpt was (slightly) helpful… But, it does not show the startup, so does not show the initial login and device setup. Also, debug_mode is not enable, so the information is rather sparse.

Attached is a version to upload that will give better logging data…

I will pull a full log with debug mode on when I get home tonight, incase the logs others have provided arent helpful.

Cybrmage - did you pull the attachments off your post when you last modified it? I dont see the LUA file attached everyone referenced.

Had some free time at work. Log attached for v 1.44. username/password obviously stripped out.

I don’t have the ability to pull a log file at the moment, but mine quit working also.

Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Being a four day old newbee to Vera I just learned how to create log files. I have one using 1.48 LUA but it is 38k over the 500k attachment max limit to send. I am not sure what part to strip out. It shows using 1.48 app is able to log into my MYQ account. Device count is accurate, devices show up on Vera Device tab but don’t respond to On/Off commands.

Hi cybrmage,

We have provided the logs you are looking for and everyone in this thread is having the same issue with 1.44 MyQ plugin? Can you or someone please take a look at this issue and provide a working solution? Thanks.

Buddy, you need to relax a little. Cybrmage maintains this plugin out of the goodness of his own heart for us to use it. Like everyone else, hes got a job, family and life that take priority over updating the MyQ plugin. He will take a look when he has the free time. Its been a whole 36 hours since people posted logs for him to look at.

If maintaining this plugin become more hassle then its worth to him, he is well within his rights to stop responding or updating, and then we are all out of luck. He is doing ALL OF US a HUGE favor by donating his skills and free time to maintain and troubleshoot this plugin (which is working for him… so helping us literally does nothing but suck up his time). Have some perspective and patience. He will get to it when he can. In the meantime, we can all close our garage doors ourselves.

Hi jaredrs1 / Cybermage,
I apologize, if I made any wrong comment as I have full respect for open source community and contributors. We will wait for Cybermage to provide us the update. Thanks everyone, especially to Cybermage for his contribution towards this community.
