Hi guys, its been a while since i was into home automation products.
I see there is so many new staff in market and i want to know what is the different between Vera and the other controllers (amazon google Samsung)?
Amazon and Google re still pretty light on automation. I am not sure if amazon even has a full scheduling system.
Smartthings hasn’t had any major changes in months. I suspect they have been doing the same as vera and dealing with technical debt.
Hubitat has become the home of choice for smartthings refugees. it’s cheap and familiar.
Homeseer has improved their mobile app so they are current. HS4 is out in 2020 and will bring a lot of future proofing, zigbee, etc.
Vera ui7 is about as stable as ui5 but with more cloud features. Zigbee and bluetooth support is still sketchy. Vera devices also compete with Atom devices within Ezlo. Whether both software packages can/will be maintained is an open question.
