I’m a beta tester of French Alexa using Amazon Echo.
Is there any planning of availability of Vera into Alexa skill for French people ?

Hi,

For information, you can connect Vera and Alexa with an ha-bridge.
I don’t want to wait the french skill, so I did it, and it works well.

ha-bridge simulate a Philips Hue bridge.
Alexa => ha-bridge => Vera
You can find a lot of informations on the web, on how to do it.

After much hope of having a quick delivery of alexa feature for french people, I decided to install HA-bridge on raspberry in order to connect Vera to Alexa and in french. (no planning and promises upset me)

It’s quite easy to install. But what I seen :

  • default requests for dimmer lights are not the good one (only on,off are ok)
  • default requests for roller shutter are not the good one. Only close was working

So some customizations need to be done.

According to this customization, I can now pilot my lights (on, off and dimm) and roller shutter (up, down and level)

Unfortunately, I add a machine to my system to manage this feature which should be natively implemented in vera with alexa

Hi everyone,

Not sure if you’re aware but Vera is going through a transition (more details here: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,102841.msg415441.html#msg415441 )
A positive transition nonetheless 8) , which is bringing a lot of “new”, “better” and “faster” to Vera. French Vera skill alongside the remaining regions is on our short list.

Hi everybody,

I have found a way to install Amazon Alexa Skill for Logitech Harmony from the United Kingdom market, and it’s working also for Vera :-).
I have done it this week, and it’s working great, I can control my Vera with Alexa.
Just a little thing, it’s sometimes very very slow or I have to repeat the order twice for it to work, but it’s working.

So, the skill is working in french, please release it for everyone.
