Ring Video Doorbell Pro

Anyone want to put odds on whether they’ll have a stream available for local recording this time?

Maybe I’m missing something but I haven’t seen a doorbell/camera product yet that you can setup in something like blueiris.

The blue iris option is nice. I am considering this from Yale however:

Comes with z wave on the higher end model. Local storage of video. The downside is having the video screen on the back of the door. That might be a deal breaker around my place

The design of the pro version is quite nice but possibility to save recordings locally is a must for me. It also requires a hardwired installation which I don’t have. The non-pro version works with battery though.

Anyone have one of these?

It supports both RTSP and SIP, and according to their blog it works with the Vera

Doorbird works with Blue Iris

My door doesn’t have a peephole so that option is out (I’d rather not add one). I do have a wired doorbell so that’ll probably be the route I’d go.

I hadn’t seen this one before: it looks pretty solid. Does anyone on here have it? From their website it looks like it’s not cheap, and from what I can tell it can’t be powered from the chime wiring?

edit: almost forgot, I sent ring a message yesterday and at the moment they have no plans for opening up any kind of local recording for the pro

I have the “cheap” version that is still more expensive than the competitors and I like it. There are a few others on here that have it as well. Here is some more info on it:

After looking those over, I think the power situation might rule the doorbird out for me… It would be a pain to run any wiring or ethernet over to where it’s at now (unless I’m not understanding installation correctly).

I wonder why the other options can run on the existing wiring but this one can’t

They finally added the Live View option too, but no API to directly access it…

Your looking at it right. You need to run a wire for power or ethernet for POE.

I’m not sure how the others are hooked up but you could steal the existing doorbell wiring and repurpose it for power but you would loose the function of the chime in your house.

I am aware of the feature of the ring’s doorbell but struggling to extend the record time of the ringdoorbell. Also Want to know how to increase the audio of a recorded video. And which is the best way to keep track of all recordings and footage.
