So how does device status work ?

I assume device status is not working? Since the Vera Concierge service was never fixed with Google, for unknown reasons.

The documentation gives an example of: “OK Google ask my Vera Concierge what is the Garage Door Status”

But obviously that part of Vera Concierge still isn’t working.

Alexa and SmartThings now has support for door contact and motion sensors.

Vera Alexa integration doesn’t support these types of sensors.

So Vera Concierge seemed like a possible solution with Google Home.

Just read this on another post by Richard, referring to the Vera Concierge service.

“The second one was developed first. Google removed it because of a graphical conflict with their marketing standards … I gave up fighting with them on getting this released … Fixing the problem was easy … Communicating with their testers in Ireland was impossible.”

So is there anything us users can do to pester Google to sort this out ? >:(

I just sent Google again feedback via the Home app, about this issue. I will call them later as well and raise a ticket.

For what good it might do.
