Touchscreen Interface for Vera...download
I don’t think anyone should have to tweak readily available code created by someone to improve it’s functionality or general working…

Removing the [tt]s[/tt] doesn’t improve the functionality/general working, it just cripples the plugin (by removing the variables from [tt]sdata[/tt] as requested by TimAlls) …
??? then whats the use of doing so (except to show its possible?)

Why cripple? Much easier to delete! That, however, is not what I was hoping for…
In a MCV device, there are lots of variables that do not come through on the Sdata command. The “s” is for short…right?(Actually it is Summary Data) How do they keep the bulk of there variables available to the “userdata” command and then make the variables needed for Control Points …Level, ID, Room, etc… available for the “Sdata” command?
It must be possible cause they are doing it!
Regards
Tim

EDIT****************
I checked…not possible

Henk
Here is the latest:
Fixed bug on scene list
Added six room for controls…choice of dimmers, switches and scene buttons
Rooms can be saved after setting them up the way you want.

Take a look.

Tim,

Can you save the devices and scenes on the control tab also? That would make things much simpler when you go back into it.
Tim,

Yes, I need to make it simpler…right now you setup the room and goto setting and hit save. It also auto saves upon exit so that next time it runs it remembers the room layout.

Questions:
Can you test thermostats for me on my next release?
Do you think that the room layouts are adequate? Is the sceen size good or should I be coding for larger screens and possibly adding sensors to the rooms?
Currently, security and sensors will be in another tab.
If I was a pro like the guys from Square Connect I would do a universal layout program but I can’t figure out where to start on that one!

I found the bug in the “saving setting” and I changed the default path to the same directory as the EXE file.
Rooms default to one of each , with names Room 1, Room 2 etc.
Added setup dialogue so you know what to do.
Added proposed thermostat but I need programing info from someone with a thermostat!
I will post this fix at 12:45 Pacific time today!
More to come
Thanks again.
Tim

My Json file should have 3 thermostats in it.

I can read them no problem
I can change the cool setpoint, heatsetpoint, but Mode? is it heat and cold? is there an on/ off command.
I will check the Wiki as well…it might all be there.
Tim

There is heat, cool, and auto. Fan auto and fan on. Heat temp and cool temp. ESM mode. Filter replacement warning (this one would be sweet to have a notification for).

I will pull more from the manual when I get home tonight.

Here is the 1.008:

Want the good news or the bad news?

Oh, the suspense…

Update on shareware version 1.008 of VCRC

  1. settings save for setup tab (Vera IP, Room naming) WORKS
  2. controltab settings NOT saved.
  3. controltab room1 NOT 1 of each device (8 dimmers, 4 switched, 4 scenes) room 2 and up yes!
  4. ping sensor (security device) now correctly shown in device tab security/locks
  5. thermostat mock up visible
  6. some devices not categorized (like SND, FCM) sounds like we need an extra category
could be Notification devices? or Luup devices?

Must/should/would haves:

  1. A way to sort devices (by ID, by type, by name)
  2. reports still fire the application that is linked… probably a todo to create files here?

Small syntax issues in the Room guide on the right:

  1. line 1, “Save” should be “Save Settings” to point to the correct button
(this should be done consistently in the text frame)
  2. line 4 assosiated should be associated?
  3. line 8 feed should be fed?

Wow…it was only posted 15 minutes ago…Henk you are fast!

I only had a few minutes for coding today and my machine at work doesn’t spell check!
Easy fixes. Those of you who have and operate thermostats please look at the mock up and tell me if it makes sense. Do I need more buttons for any missing commands?

The code is easy…I just had to do my homework.

Thermostats will be here tonight…cameras, that is a different story!
Security…tomorrow maybe.

Getting there.

Tim

Sits back and relaxes… Time to charge for the next release then
The sooner you publish, the faster we can check it ;D

I want your job!

A thought…if you have a list of Sort Cuts to Wiki or important threads I can easily add a help page that will auto direct you to those links…
What do you think?

Being in a different timezone has its advantages…
You work, i sleep, i work, you sleep… and exactly in the overlap (your lunch?) you publish builds and i test

Thanks Henk,
I think for now I will link only to Wiki (a suggestion by Guessed) so that the links stay in tact.

As for thermostats…interesting things are popping up like this:http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php?topic=1881.0
I was planning on an " up one degree and down one degree in the code" …I didn’t realize the current UI made it so difficult!

How about a numeric popup page to make the settings?
@Ballroller or other thermostat users…what is your wish list here?
The only thing I can’t do easily is the Apple Roll Dial…sorry

Can you pull up your advanced tab on the thermostat and give me a list of variables…then I will know what is possible!
