You are the valued 0.1%

Shout out to @akbooer and @rigpapa for achieving what no one else (still) on this Forum has ever done, namely visited the site over 400 DAYS, according to the All-Time Leaderboard — CONGRATULATIONS, guys!

► YOU ARE THE TOP OF THE 0.1% ◄

As illustrated by the chart below, despite having 60,000 registered users, activity in the Vera Community forum is driven by a vanishingly small subset of players:
site_visit_tally

Conversely, a whopping 97% of those who signed up over the past 12 years either never posted once or failed to ever return. This suggests the vast majority of those accounts (half of them created since late 2018) were auto-generated by spambots, thus may not represent real people or paying customers. (Another contingent – Vera buyers/users who were unaware of the Forum – likely never joined at all.)

Once again, congratulations to our highest-performing and most valued contributors, occupying the upper stratosphere of those elite members who’ve spent more than 300 days visiting the Vera Community!

Well what do you know, even I am among these 0.1% (362 days visited).
To bad I’m not contributing in the same way as the legends you mentioned @LibraSun , I just benefit from them to keep my HA system running as smooth as possible (Right now my system is quite stable running a VeraPlus and a VeraEdge on the latest firmware).

I think that ‘vanishingly’ is the operative word here. The move to a new Ezlo firmware sets all of us on the forum back to base zero. We’re all beginners again. Whether we choose to stay and become experts once more depends on both technical and social attitudes and innovations from the company.

Of course, we all need to move forwards, it’s just a question of whether or not we choose the same direction.

In my case, at least, the signal to noise ratio is not so good

I also hereby induct myself into another exclusive club — this one with only 6 members!! — reserved for posters receiving the ‘Nice Topic’ (10+ Likes) badge:

Ironically, it was this very post that won me the award, LOL! :rocket:

NOTE: The user @rafale77 – until last week the Forum’s #1 contributor – was recently banished, so technically forfeits this badge along with dozens others he earned since 2014. Three of the other members shown are ezlo employees.

So basically the forum has 4566 users (3114+996+203+137+62+54).
Pretty surprising, I was also under the impression that there were thousands.

Why did they boot Rafale77?

Perhaps they should of hired him instead LOL.

Spam as in trying to sell Viagra? Or was he a Nigerian Prince?

There is spam and then there is enthusiasm LOL.

He was certainly very knowledgeable about Linux systems.

It turns out, after careful review, the number of distinct Forum members posting during the first 4 months of 2020 is likely somewhere between 500 and 600 (i.e. around 13%, perhaps slightly higher), which ain’t too shabby considering.

Maybe a lot of members are like me. I do read, but don’t post or reply.

Mostly due to the fact that members with much more knowhow than me are already doing that.

We’re coming up on 12 years since the birth of MiCasaVerde and the inception of the MCV Forum (see old Leaderboard below). I joined exactly one year later, and began sorting out the old Wiki pages for them.

Some argue that a working Wiki-like resource would help today’s Vera/ezlo users troubleshoot their units, and to navigate the many(!!) documented “special cases” encountered during setup, maintenance and development.

Well… the statistic said “site visit” - if it would have been posts, agreed, that’s a different topic.

I know there was a thread around, I don’t want to reopen it… does anyone know what happened to Richard?
I’ve bought my vera because of him

Yep, he’s still around, just doesn’t read the Forum any more. You can email Richard (esteemed Creator of PLEG!) here.

Looking at that list there were some really great contributors, unfortunate so many of them left.
