Vera Blue Iris Unofficial Plugin

Actually I was thinking more from the standpoint of Vera and the Vera App Store. Blue Iris doesn’t currently have their own interface to Vera and has never indicated any interest doing that aware of so I doubt they care.

Great plugin undertoe! I am downloading now to play around with it. I have 7 cameras on my Blue Iris system, and had been using Blue Iris to send scene triggers upon motion. Nice to now have another way to do it with motion control!

Just installed and works a treat - great stuff thank @underoe

First time setting up a camera for me and thought I’d try this–looks like a great plugin! I’m having some trouble getting the video feed in vera and not sure what I’m doing wrong. I can’t tell if the issue is on the general camera setup side, the vera side or the BlueIris side. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a foscam camera setup in BlueIris and it’s working fine on the LAN. Can see and manipulate the camera through BlueIris. The camera is on port 90 and the BlueIris web server is on port 120 (hopefully I did this correctly by putting them on two separate ports).

Note that I’m not able to access the camera remotely. I’m having a lot of trouble getting my system configured to allow this–really frustrating. I was hoping that since the plug in seems to use the LAN ip address, and from what I can tell this is all working fine, this wouldn’t be an issue. Is this the source of the problem getting the camera feed into vera?

If anyone has suggestions for resources to get remote access up and running with BlueIris, it would be very appreciated. Not sure if this is the right thread for that… I’ve been at this for several hours and just not making any progress. I have a comcast modem and am using a Time Capsule as a router and mac as our main computer, but have a PC setup running BlueIris. I thought I had time capsule set up correctly to open the port, but when I check it at canyouseeme.org, it can’t see my service. I can’t figure out if the problem is on the firewall on my mac or the pc, with my settings in time capsule, or with a combination.

Hi tb001 ensure ypu jave webserver running and have noted ip and port and checked they are open and not being blocked. Then ensure you jave a user and password and that the profile for user is active. Also ensure profile has administrator ticked . Hope this helps.

Thanks LightsOn! Does vera/blueiris plugin need the web server running, or can it access the camera on the LAN?

I know my remote access isn’t working correctly. I think I have the web server set up correctly, as well as the user name and password, but pretty sure my port isn’t open. If I enter my ipaddress:port into the browser on my phone, it can’t connect.

Google can you see me for checking if your port is open also double check again that thunder the user you have administrator tagged and also i have my router port forwarding to the web server ip address as listed in blue iris then i use d d y n s let me know how you get on up at start making sure you can see through the port also don’t forget firewall and antivirus may be blocking ports i want this sorted do iris set up very straightforward and works great

OK, made some significant progress, though I’m not entirely certain what I did! I can now see my port on canyouseeme.org. When I enter : into the browser on my phone (so off my local network), I’m taken to the login page and can see my camera.

Took a reboot of my vera, but now seems to be showing up!! Thank you!

Great stuff

TB you get everything setup? Have you watched my install video, should be nothing more than just copying your lan ip and port and pasting it during the setup. You can PM me if you are still having an issue.

Overall this is awesome, just what I have been waiting for! I am having one minor issue with the motion sensors on vera. They will not allow me to switch to bypass without manually setting the variable in the advanced tab. The buttons on the dashboard do not work. Says not implemented.

Good catch, i haven’t tried to bypass yet but i will fix that in the next revision.

Thanks undertoe,

When updating from a pervious version do we need to start fresh or if I am updating from .3 to .4 do I just need to load the newest I_BlueIris.xml?

Yes, I should probably add that to the read me. Just upload the 0.4 I_Blueiris.xml and check the restart luup. After it reloads all configured cameras should have the updated config options.

undertoe,
Thanks for creating this fantastic plug-in, I really appreciate your effort here. I have been testing this for a few days, and I can’t seem to get it to work with the LAN security enabled. It works fine with LAN security disabled in BlueIris, but once I enable it, I can no longer connect to any cameras. I know i’m using the correct credentials (from the BlueIris Web console settings admin account). Any idea what may be the issue here?

Have others utilized with the LAN security enabled successfully?

Thanks very much

Yep working for me here. Have you ticked administrator under the account in blue iris? That may be it?

CoreDex, yes I have tested it with a alphanumeric username and password. If your username or password contains non-alphanumeric maybe try to remove them just for the test. If that works it might be an encoding issues.

Just released version 0.5 which addresses two bug fixes

[ul][li]Motion Sensor can now be set to Armed or Bypass[/li]
[li]If you disable motion detection the motion sensor would still be available in Vera now if you set “EnableMotionSensor” back to 0 it will delete the associated Motion sensor on reload.[/li][/ul]
